CHECK-IN/
REGISTRATION
  • Tournament check-in will begin 1 hour prior to game times at the park
  • All team MUST check in prior to playing, or you will forfeit your first game and every game thereafter until all paperwork has been submitted and/or reviewed
  • All official A.S.A rosters, travel permits, or A.S.A. Sanction Cards and Proof of Insurance must be presented to Tournament Headquarters/Check-In for review prior to your first game. It will be your responsibility to have in your possession birth certificates and player photo ID’s in the event of a player protest.

RULES
  • The tournament will be governed by the 2006 A.S.A. Rules/Code for championship and/or invitational play, except where amended by rules indicated below
GAME RULES
INFORMATION-
ALL AGES
  • Game times are approximate! Be prepared to take the field immediately when the preceding game is completed. Failure to be on the field and ready for play will result in a forfeit. It is recommended that you arrive at your assigned field one-half hour prior to game time.
  • No infield practice and no batting practice against the fences.
  • Home team will be determined by a coin toss. Teams listed on top of bracket will occupy the 3rd base dugout, and teams listed on the bottom of a bracket will occupy the 1st base dugout.
  • All Ground rules will be reviewed by the umpires before each game. The starting line-up must be submitted to the home plate umpire during the coverage of ground rules. Line-up cards will be furnished by the Edgewood Blaze tournament staff.
  • Game balls will be furnished and are to be returned at games’ end.
  • A seventy-five (75) minute time limit shall apply to all games. Official game time starts at the ground rules and will be the home team’s responsibility to note the starting time in the scorebook per the umpire. The umpire shall have the official time piece. No new inning shall begin after the Seventy-five minute time limit. The game clock will be stopped for only injury or protest
  • In the event of a tie game after seven complete innings of play, the International Tie-Breaker shall begin in the 8th inning. In the event that time has expired, and a game is tied, the International Tie-Breaker will be instituted at the top of the next inning.
  • There shall be a 12 run rule after 3 innings, 10 run rule after four (4) innings, and 8 run rule after five (5) innings.

PROTEST

  • The protest fee is $25 (CASH). The fee will be returned if the protest is allowed. Any dispute on a rule interpretation will be settled immediately by the protest committee before the game continues. A protest committee has been established for the Edgewood Blaze Invitational. ABSOLUTELY NO PROTEST WILL BE ALLOWED ON AN UMPIRE’S JUDGEMENT CALL.
INCLEMENT
WEATHER
  • In the event of rain, every effort will be made to continue and complete the tournament. Sunday will be reserved as a rainout date. However, one or more of the following formats may be instituted at the discretion of the Tournament Director.
  • Teams must be prepared to play anytime.
  • The run rule will be lowered to 8 runs after three innings, six runs after four innings and four runs after five innings.
  • One hour time limit and/or five innings of play
  • In the event of extreme heat and/or humidity, the safety and welfare of the players will be a primary concern of the tournament staff. Games may or will be shortened to on of the above mentioned formats

GATE FEES

Two-day tournament $7.00 weekend pass .
One-day pass $4.00.
Please, no carry in coolers, except one per team dugout.
